Poma’s Park is an initiative of the Bogotá Chamber of Commerce and the Environmental Business Corporation to preserve the biodiversity and landscape in this area of the Soacha municipality. The Park has been in operation since 1997 and in its effort to care for the environment since the Hojas Verdes program, more than 80,000 trees have been planted, that is, more than 30 different species of native trees, some of them in danger of extinction.
HOW TO GET TO THE POMA’S PARK, SOACHA
Poma’s Park is located in the municipality of Soacha, 10 kilometers from Bogotá, on the Bogotá – Silvania road. You must arrive by taking the southern highway, the park is 200 meters from the Chusacá toll. To get to Pom’s Ecological Park from Bogotá you must first get to the south highway and there take a bus to the Chusacá toll. You must get off after the toll. The trip takes approximately 45 minutes.

GEOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE IN LA POMA PARK
Poma’s Park is located in a dry mountain forest ecosystem at 2737 meters above sea level, the region has an average temperature of 12.8°C. It is advisable to bring comfortable clothing, grippy shoes for the walk. It is likely that there will be rain, so a good option is to bring a raincoat or a change of extra clothes, a jacket or warm clothes.

But in addition to all this, the park itself holds one of the greatest cultural treasures, because if you visit Poma’s Park you can admire the unique pre-colombino rock art and more than 150 rocks that tell stories of more than 12,000 years ago. You must take into account that inside the Poma’s Park you will not find a restaurant, however, in the surroundings of the park there are some restaurants where you will find variety in the menu at affordable prices. It is recommended that for your visit to the park you take enough water or a moisturizing drink and some snacks.
