Tamá National Natural Park is located in the eastern mountain range of the Colombian Andes. Together with the Tamá Park in Venezuela, it forms the Tamá Massif, a binational massif of great ecological value and also a protected area for both countries.
HOW TO GET TO THE TAMÁ NATIONAL NATURE PARK?
Tamá National Natural Park is located in the department of Norte de Santander in the municipalities of Herrán and Toledo. To get to Tamá National Natural Park you must get to Cúcuta or Pamplona, from Cúcuta the route is Cúcuta – Chinacota – Ragonvalia – Herrán, this journey takes about 3 hours. On the other hand, from Pamplona the route you can take is Pamplona-Toledo – Chinacota – Ragonvalia – Herrán, this route lasts 4 hours.
GEOGRAPHY AND CLIMATE OF THE TAMÁ NATIONAL NATURE PARK
In the Tamá National Natural Park you will find 4 different ecosystems, so there will be temperatures from moor to tropical rainforest. The temperature in the park varies from 6°C to 25°C depending on the ecosystem visited. In the same way, it is located between 350 and 3400 meters above sea level.
It is recommended during your visit to the Tamá Park to have comfortable clothing, raincoat, boots for swamp, sunscreen.
ATTRACTIONS IN THE TAMÁ NATURAL PARK
Tamá National Natural Park is a protected area of 48,000 hectares in which you will find 4 different thermal floors: tropical rainforest, temperate rainforest, cold shiver forest and paramo. In this way, the variety of species of flora and fauna will be very diverse, among the most common animal species in the park are the black bear, marsupial, deer, macaws, chigüiros, the tapir and the poppy lion among many others, the variety of fauna is impressive. On the other hand, you can not miss visiting the areas of paramo to meet the imposing frailejones.
In addition to this, the water sources you will find in the park will allow you to take a delicious bath and interact directly with nature.

To enter the Tamá National Park the tourist must pay an entrance fee:
– National or foreign resident in Colombia under 25 years old: $5.000
– National or foreign resident in Colombia older than 25 years: $11,000
– Non-resident foreigner in Colombia: $26,500
