This tourist destination is 51,900 hectares of virgin moor which has only a few areas open to tourists since this park is an area of natural conservation, species protection and scientific research. It is located in the western mountain range of the Colombian Andes.

How to get to Tatamá National Natural Park?

Tatamá National Nature Park is located between the departments of Chocó, Valle del Cauca and Risaralda. To get to Tatamá Park you have to go to Manizales or Pereira, there you have to take a bus that takes the road that leads to Santuario, and then you have to get to Los Planes de San Rafael Trail, in this trail there is a long road of about 7 hours to get to the park. It is recommended to hire an expert guide in the area.

Geography and climate in Tatamá National Natural Park

Tatamá National Natural Park occupies a large area ranging from 2.000 to 4.000 meters above sea level, so the temperature varies from 3°C to 15°C. During your visit to Tatamá Park, you should wear a warm rapa, a raincoat, a hat and gloves, shoes and sunscreen. It is recommended to make the visit in the months of January to July since they are the driest.

Restaurants in Tatamá National Natural Park

Within this nature reserve you will not find restaurants, however, very close to the park is a place that offers restaurant service to tourists visiting the park. For the tour, have plenty of hydration and some snacks.

At the entrance to the park is Finca Montezuma, in this property you can find accommodation and guide service. In the nearby towns of Pueblo Rico or Santuario you will find accommodation in hotels and hostels at good prices and in good condition, you will also find camping areas.
