How to get to El Escobo Waterfall?

Escobo Waterfall is located approximately 112 kilometers from Bogotá, to reach Vergara from Bogota, you can go to the portal of Transmilenio 80 or the terminal of Salitre and take a bus to Vergara – Nimaima for an approximate cost of $17,000 (year 2019). The journey from Bogota to Vergara takes about 2.5 hours. Upon arriving at the main square of Vergara you will find a tourism agency where you can hire a guide and torrentism and canopy service, among others. It is recommended to access these services to make the trip more interesting.

Climate and recommendations in Vergara

Vergara is located at 1.510 meters above sea level, has an average temperature of 19°C, however, according to the day, the temperature may drop or rise a little more. For this reason, we recommend having comfortable clothes ans shoes for the walk, sun block and insect repellent. If you do adventure activities, it is recommended that you pack an additional set of clothes, bathing suit, shoes and towel.

Keep in mind that inside and around the waterfall you will not find shops or restaurants, it is necessary that for your visit to the Escobo Waterfall has food and hydration.

Start the tour early, in this way you will take advantage of the day to perform various activities and get to know the area and finish the tour in time to go to lunch.

If you plan to spend the night in a camping area it is necessary that you have warm clothes, a jacket and good equipment, as at night the temperature can drop a lot and you will feel very cold.

Attractions and plans at Escobo Waterfall

The Escobo Waterfall is one of the attractions of the town of Vergara, the adventure will begin with an ecological walk of 2 hours in which you will know the landscapes and population of Vergara, the climb to the waterfall requires good physical condition. As we have already said, it is appropriate that you hire a guide, because, although the road is easy to travel, you will take better advantage of the walk and learn more about the town, its flora, fauna and water sources. To get to the waterfall the Escobo will have to go through two other smaller waterfalls, and a natural swimming pool where you can swim.

El Escobo waterfall is located 55 meters above sea level, where you can practice torrentism and canopy. Vergara is a municipality famous for the Tiger Route, this tour is promoted by some tourism agencies and offer the complete plan with transportation and food.

This route includes hiking, canyonnering, visit to natural swimming pool, torrentismo, transport and lunch, in addition to the tour to the town of Vergara. It is a very interesting plan in which you will know the beauty of these small hidden villages of Colombia.
